News:
- 2007: Don joins Team Secondwind Suburban Rush for the Squamish Momar (May 12th, sprint, 1st place team of four co-ed), Full Moon in June, Crowsnest Pass Alberta (June 9-10, 36 hour, 5th place) and Raid The North Extreme (June 23-30, expedition, 8th place) races. - 2007-04-07: Don runs the Diez Vista 50k finishing 27th of 122.
- 2006-08-06: Tod Nowack joins Don, John and Kyla for the 2006 Raid The North at Sun Peaks finishing 13th. See also photos.
- 2006-06-04: Don Barthel and Jamin Davies joins John Barron and Kyla Adams of Team Experience Cycle for the 2006 Full Moon in June finishing 6th.
- 2006-05-13: Don Barthel finished 22/243 (overall), 20/136 (male), 7/48 (male 30-39) in the 5 Peaks Golden Ears 'Enduro' (14km, results halfway down the page) trail run.
- 2006-04-08: At his first Ultra Marathon, the Diez Vista 50k, Don Barthel finishes 38th of 149.
- 2006-03-01: We have compiled a list of adventure races in 2006 that may be of interest to racers living in Vancouver's Lower Mainland.
- 2005-08-27: Don is the last solo to complete the Race the Rockies 18hr Challenge after deciding to spend the night due to getting cliffed out in the dark.
- 2005-05-26: Rick St. Pierre and Don Barthel manage a top-10 finish as team-of-two-male in the Mind Over Mountain race in Ucluelet despite a number of technical errors - see the 2005 races page for details.
Congrats to Tom Jarecki (Team Go Big member 2004) and John Barron for finishing second in the team-of-two-male division.
- 2005-04-18: Jen Segger (Team Go Big member 2004) finishes as the 10th woman and 144th overall (out of nearly 800 competitors) in the 20th Marathon des Sable, a 6-day 243km footrace across the Sahara Desert in Morocco.
- 2005-04-03: Don has a report from Lawrence Fosters Intermediate and Advanced Navigation Course in Ottawa Canada
- 2004-08-06: Team Go Big! competes in the AR World Championships, completing the 533+ km course in 5 days 12 hours 50 minutes. Read the race report then read the Canadian Press Story.
- 2004-06-06: Go Big takes third place at the Full Moon In June 36 hour race at Sundre Alberta, tearing up the course in 27 hours 5 minutes! Read the race report then read the article in Whistler's Pique Magazine.
